so rivalry is now a quartet has-been. reigning champs no more. sigh. just a couple of memories from the weekend before i crash: - riding to a convention instead of driving is way fun. i must do that more often. - "little bunny foo foo" is a good way for the baritone to suddenly crack up during the goat joke. - you know you've got a ringer when people start applauding -before- you start the goat joke, as well as call it out as a request. the mind she boggles. - mr. touchdown USA is still funny. - the difference between the first and second place quartets this weekend was three whole points. 3. trois. and checkmate was not the winner like expected. wow. - handing the trophy to friendly advice, those who are left from fatherly advice, was an honor. - half of an audience were in tears during and most of said audience were on their feet at the conclusion of the singing of a television show theme song. the song wasn't funny, either. i guess we can still sing with feeling. - the aforementioned theme song arrangement was asked to be purchased by a sweet adeline quartet before it was ever sung in public. now that is funny. - 5:45am is a good time for bed. - satan himself was in the judging pit. those eyes!!!!! they burns!! - not competing at the district level in a quartet is no fun. - bob and les made it to the finals round. again. and they weren't mic testers. score! on deck for rivalry: - learn our christmas songs for the december 6th show. we promise not to disappoint. - start selecting some new songs. - record the %!@# CD. - beg for work. we have -no- gigs coming up in the near or far future. the chapter show on decemberf 6th, prelims the first weekend of april, and singing on bellevue's chapter show opening the second half of the show right before the 2003 int'l champs sing (our headliners, Power Play - the dad, his two sons, and their cousin. how cool is that? :D :D :D :D ) but for now, i am going to fall asleep. good night. -= george =- |
